中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所二级研究员、博士生导师、中国科学院特聘研究员(核心骨干)、中国科学院大学特聘教授,国家杰出青年基金获得者、教育部长江学者奖励计划青年学者,国家万人计划科技创新领军人才、国家百千万人才工程入选者,获得国家有突出贡献中青年专家称号,享受国务院政府特殊津贴。发表论文350余篇,引用18,000余次,多次入选全球高被引科学家。入选2023年全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单,入选终身科学影响力排行榜

先后分别从国内外获得地图学与地理信息系统博士、环境经济学博士学位。历任所对外合作处处长、所务委员等职。主持国家基金委创新优势群体、重大研究计划、重点项目课题、国家重点研发计划等研究30余项。长期从事自然资源管理、环境监测与评价、全球变化与区域发展等方面的研究与教学。近年来主要集中于乡村振兴、美丽中国、生态减灾理论与方法等研究。主要的学术兼职包括联合国防治荒漠化公约组织科技与政策协调委员会委员、未来地球计划Urban KAN科学委员会成员 、国家自然科学基金委国际组织合作咨询专家组成员、国家标准化专业委员会国土资源信息技术委员会委员、中国双法学会能源经济与管理研究分会副理事长、中国国土经济学会理事、中国地理学会产业政策与发展地理学工作组组长、中国自然资源学会资源流动与管理专业委员会主任、中国城乡发展智库联盟副理事长等。目前担任Resources, Conservation & Recycling副主编、Regional Environmental Change编辑、担任Journal of Cleaner ProductionJournal of Land Use ScienceJournal of Geographical ScienceLand、草业学报、农林经济管理学报等期刊编委。
